NDC Communication Officer hit hard on government over Appiatse explosive mismanagement.

The Constituency Communication Officer for the NDC in the Prestea Huni-Valley of the Western region, Mr Kwame Acheampong Bonful Junior has expressed disappointment and dissatisfaction over how cloudy the government is handling the Appiatse explosion incident.

Mr. Kwame Boful has accused the ministry of Lands for shielding to publish the full committee investigative report, saying it will be more prudent to make public the report by the Prof. Amankwah Committee which addresses the teething challenges in the mining sector.

According to him, the Ministry may be concealing some particular details about the whole incident, therefore, he called on the government to publish the report and let’s public see what were the basis for which the Committee came to these findings and on the basis for which the recommendations were made.

Mr. Bonful again learnt with shock at the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor who revealed that the amount received from the public into the Appiatse support fund is not enough for the reconstruction of the community.

Samuel Abu Jinapor speaking on the floor of Parliament, he said about 70 million cedis is needed for the reconstruction of the community flattened by the detonation of explosives being transported to a mining site but 42 million has been realized so far.

The Prestea Huni-Valley communication officer insist that, the five-member committee have rakes enough funds from Ghanaians and foreign Aids to superintendent the tragedy.

However, Mr. Bonful has charged the five-member committee chaired by Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee to ensure judicious use of the funds for the sole benefit of the people of Appiatse.

The Constituency Communication Officer in his address lambasted the Land minister who on Tuesday alleged that MP for Prestea Huni Valley, the constituency the explosion occurred has not contributed to the Appiatse Support Fund.

The NDC Communication Officer did not take kindly to these comments indicating that their MP has distribute and supported the victims with items and life changing aids.

Kwame Acheampong Bonful is therefore asking the said minister how much has he, his deputy and the entire ministry contributed to the said fund.

“remember you can fool some people all the time and all the people sometimes but can’t fool all the people all the time again I again want to know how much has the so called Rev madam Dr Joyce Aryee contributed to the fund please for all things look to yourself first Abu Jinapo former card bearing member for NDC never try to bite the finger or the hand that has fed you before” he stressed.

He has asked the Lands Minister to careful chose his words on their MP and apologise to the people of Prestea Huni Valley.
