Sunyani Technical University warns new Matriculants against stealing
The Vice Chancellor of Sunyani Technical University (STU) Prof. Ing. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah has warned new matriculants against stealing both on campus and off campus to preserve the good name of the University.
He said the University would not hesitate to handover any criminal practices on campus to Ghana Police for further investigation.
Later last year, a student name withheld at the University was alleged to be apprehended for stealing belongings of his colleagues including laptops on campus and was later handed over to Police, he warned.
Prof. Ing. Adinkra-Appiah, Vice Chancellor of Sunyani Technical University (STU) issued this stern warning in an interview with Nana Asempa Asa of SpaceFM during the University’s 26th Matriculation ceremony held at Sunyani Technical University.
The Vice Chancellor Prof Adinkra further warned students who engage in football betting with their school fees at the expense of their education that their education would end short without paying school fees.
He expressed worry that some students fall into betting temptations which mostly landed them school drop outs.
He therefore urged parents to ensure thier wards become responsible students.
This year, the University issued admission letters to a total of 3,601 prospective students.
Out of the number, a total of 2,104 applicants representing 58.4% responded and we’re admitted into the University.
The total enrolment of 2,104 fresh students for this academic year show a decrease of 21.9% from last year’s figure of 2,695.
