New Juaben Traditional Council To Temporary Suspend Trading & Business Activities As It Marks The One Week Observation Of Their Two Fallen Pillars

The New Juaben Traditional Council has announced that there will be a temporal shutdown of shops and petty trade businesses in some part of Koforidua especially some ceremonial streets owing to the one week Observation of their two Falen Heros or Pillars. Thus the late Omanhene Daasebre Oti Boateng and the Late Queen Mother Nana Yaa Danni II

Speaking in a press conference organised by the Traditional council to brief the media on Preparations and arrangements towards the one week, the Gyaasehene of New Juaben Traditional Area Nana Twumasi Danquah said as a result of the one week celebration all shops along the route that leads to the Yiadom- Hwedie Palace will not be allowed to operate and nobody should be seen embarking on any petty trade during the said date for the event.

He added that some other streets will be blocked and others too will be accessible not to the entire public but for only the dignitaries presence in order to ease traffic flow and congestion.

The affected streets are the road from Koforidua First Traffic Light through the central market to Prince Boateng roundabout to the forecourt of the Palace and all other roads connected to the Palace.

As a result, the traditional area is urging that all inhabitant of the New Juaben Traditional Area to reserve a clean environment for the occasion.

New Juaben Traditional Area has announced that the one week celebration of the late Omanhene Daasebre Oti Boateng is set to commence on Sunday 6th to 7th March , 2022 at Yiadom- Hwedie Palace in Koforidua- Srodae. Which the Sunday would be Black Akwasidae.

Addressing the press, Nana Kwame Duah the Apagyahene of New Juaben Traditional Area, also said as part of the funeral arrangement to finally announce to the general public the official date for the final funeral rite of the late Omanhene Daasebre Oti Boateng, it is therefore imperative to observe the one week celebration in order to allow the New Juaben traditional authorities to reveal the date for the final funeral rite.

He explained that on the said date for the one week celebration, a book of condolence will be opened to the general public to permit all individuals, agencies, organizations and sympathizers who wish to donate and contribute towards the final funeral rite to do so.

And Protocols of covid- 19 proper would be adhere to as measures have been put in place to ensure that all covid -19 protocols are duly observed during the one week Observation of the late Omanhene Daasebre Prof. Emiretus Oti Boateng and the Queen Mother Nana Yaa Danni II.

According to the funeral publicity committee chaired by the Apagyahene Nana Kwame Duah, explained that the one week celebration of the late Omanhene Daasebre Oti Boateng is significant in a sense that the late Omanhene was a great asset not only to Ghana but to the entire world at large.

She assure to speak to her people or traders to adhere to.

She was there with some executives from the market to also donate some Food items to the committee towards the one week Observation.
