Indian High Commissioner embarks on a five-day working visit to the Ahafo Region.

The Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Sugandh Rajaram on Sunday began a five working visit to Ahafo Region.

His visit is being undertaken to strengthen the tradionally warm and friendly relations between India and Ghana and explore the possibility of fortifying the economic and commercial relations, at the Regional level.

Mr. Sugandh Rajaram, is expected to hold meetings with various government authorities in Ahafo, traditional Authorities, tourist sites, business groups on the potentials of Ahafo, capacity building for doctors and nurses, educational scholarships among others

He further added that, the collaborate with Ahafo Region on skills training in sectors such as Information Technology (IT) and medicine and farming.

Hon. George Boakye, Ahafo Regional Minister in his remarks, referred to the strong and warm ties shared by the Indian government on skills training programs such as IT and health as some of the key areas bonding the two nations.

Owoahen Acheampong, Ahafo Regional Director Centre for National Culture said the collaboration with India will promote culture, tourism and also help his office to promote its vision of setting up culture Village in all the 13 paramouncies in Ahafo Region.
