The Municipal Chief Executive for Old Tafo-Pankrono Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Lord Inusah Lansah has urged youth in the Municipality to strive for academic laurels to be able to compete favourable peers particularly in this contemporary era of technology.
According to him, education should be seen as a shared responsibility even though the government through the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has succeeded making secondary education free in the country.
At a 14th annual graduation ceremony of Akoto Osei training center, Hon. Lord Inusah Lansah assured the board, staffs and students in the institution that their request for COTVET assistance and government support have been forwarded to the ministry of education- technical and vocational education division for urgent response.
He therefore admonished the graduates to cultivate the habit of tolerance, respect and continue to defend their identity and integrity at wherever they find themselves.
In a welcome address, the board chairperson of the institution, Hon. Nana Afia Konadu popularly known as iron lady disclosed that, the school is facing financial constraints as it is solely depends on MPs common fund which however inadequately not released on-time making teachers and workers unleash more troubles.
Hon Nana Afia Konadu appealed to the government as it is very committed to improving technical and vocational education in the country therefore to come to their aid to assist them into T-VET or in any other form.
Meanwhile the Member of Parliarment, Vincent Ekow Assafuah has presented 8 dryer and 25 sewing machines to the graduates.
