Old Tafo-Pankrono MCE put measures to eradicate heavy road traffic,says pot holes are the major cause.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Old Tafo-Pankrono in the Ashanti Region, Hon Lord Inusah Lansah has articulated measures and mechanisms to curb the excessive road vehicle traffic on the main trunk from Suame roundabout to Pankrono-Atimatim junction.
He pointed that, the numerous potholes seen on the highway are the main factors that creates the heavy traffic, making vehicles and commuters delay and suffer to and fro the central business district of greater Kumasi.
Mr Lord Inusah Lansah said, the regional and the municipal urban road departments are pulling plans together to commence work to curtail the jam and bring easness to the commuters.
In his first sessional address as chief executive at the 3rd ordinary general assembly meeting of the second session of third assembly, Hon Lord Inusah charged the assembly members to support him relocate the pragyia tricycle operatters from the Tafo 4 miles and also provide street lights at all the thick darked electoral areas to scare recalcitrant evil doers away.
Hon Lord Inusah Lansah furthermore submitted to the assembly members for their approval to construct pavement with solid concrete blocks at the Municipal Assembly’s Office Administration Complex and the frontage of the premises of the Tafo traditional council to give the edifice more befitting facelift.
About the assembly’s 2022 composite budget, fee fixing resolution and action plan, the second chief executive of the newly created municipality who as well a Journalist and Entrepreneur stated that, the budget proposed was inline with their developmental agenda and therefore urged the honourable members to approve it as a working tool, document for the year 2022.
However, the Assembly Members thoroughly diagnosed, screened the proposed budget read by the municipal budget Officer. They later did not only commended the Chief Executive, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Emmanuel A. Ntoso and his staffs but they also approved the budget for execution.
The Assembly Man for Pankrono-Bediako electoral area, Hon. Ernest Owusu said, it is prudent that the assembly to enforce the laws pertaining unlawful packing of vehicles in the Municipality and the assembly thinking of constructing washroom facility at Pankrono-Atimatim junction lorry terminal could generate revenue for the assembly.
