Entrepreneurship is the Solution to Unemployment in a County of 30.8million population – Dr. Richard Asiedu
The Chief Executive Officer of St. Andrews Group of Schools and Companies, Dr. Richard Kofi Asiedu, is calling on young graduates in Ghana to aspire to become entrepreneurs instead of looking for employment in the public sector.
According to him, opportunities for employment in the formal sectors of the economy are limited. “Under these conditions, entrepreneurship seems to provide a greater promise for lowering the levels of real unemployment in the country,” he said.
Dr. Asiedu, who was honoured by the local chapter of National Union of Ghana Students at Akenten Appiah Menka University Skills, Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) for his commitment and leadership qualities in the business world said, unemployment remains a key challenge to the Ghanaian government and its policymakers and the only way out is entrepreneurial skills that will strengthen the youth’s capacity to care for themselves and their families.
Meanwhile the president of the local chapter of the National Union of Ghana Students at Apenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Development, Mr. Nsafoah Emmanuel noting the reasons why the school decided to honour Dr. Richard Asiedu was not motivate other industry players to emulate the good gesture.
