KUMASI: ICCES BEGINS DRESS DESIGN AND FOOD BAZAA CONTEST.

The integrated Community for Employable Skills, ICCES has presented the second edition of Dress Design and Food Bazaar contest held at the St. Louis college of education in Kumasi on Thursday.

ICESS is an organization under the ministry of employment and labour relation that aim to create youth employment opportunities by developing young human resources through skills training.

Speaking on the theme “Harnessing and Developing Creative Skills in trainees” the Deputy Ashanti regional minister, Hon Elizabeth Agyemang blandished young Ghanaians to adopt the spirit of acquiring skills development for a lifetime, to be self-employed and to earn decent living.

She implored students to not only acquire formal education but also learn and engage in vocational skills like carpentry, hair braiding, catering, fitting etc to explore and use their natural resources to improve their standard of living.

The Ashanti regional Coordinator for the ICCES, Mr. Amoah Daniel said the contest was to empower and also to train the students and youth in demand driven employable skills for self employment in their chosen trades through micro and small-scale enterprises to combat youth employment and mitigating rural-urban drift.
