Australian High Commission reaches out to Physically Challenged Persons in Offinso North

The Australian High Commission in collaboration with a Techiman based NGO “Center for Posterity Interest Organization” (COPIO) has opened a Training Center at Akumadan to equip Physically Challenged Persons in the Offinso North district with employable skills to cater for themselves.

The facility since it’s completion has trained some disabled persons in soap making and other cosmetics which has helped them gain certification from Food and Drugs Authority for commercialization.

At a short ceremony to commission the facility, His Excellency Gregory Andrews Australian High Commissioner to Ghana called for increment in the percentage of funds allocated to champion the wellbeing of the less privileged in society.

For his part, Mr. Mustapha Yeboah Executive Director for Center for Posterity Interest Organization underscored the impact the training center will have in the lives of the Persons with Disabilities therefore urging them to maintain the place in order to benefit future generations.

Meanwhile, Mr. Fosu Kwabena Paul Chairman of Offinso North branch of the Federation of Disability Organization later speaking in an interview expressed gratitude to the donors.
