District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region, Hon Dr Adu-Poku Christian, has led a general clean-up exercise to ensure that the environment was kept clean to promote good health.
The exercise was done in collaboration with some folks from the ruling New Patriotic Party, with the support from the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly, aimed to clean, green and beautify the District.
According to him, keeping the environment clean and green as it was launched by Simon Osei Mensah, the Hon Ashanti Regional Minister, will promotes good health and attracts investors for socio-economic development.
Hon APC Adwumawura as affectionately called, speaking to newsmen after the exercise, underscored the need for leaders and residents to engage in communal activities to accelerate the pace of development.
He together with the residents swept the streets, cleaned choked gutters, weeded the surroundings and planted about 200 trees in between the highway from Kronum Cementimu onwards to the District capital, Kodie.
According to him, the exercise was not going to be a one-day fashion but would be extended to other electoral areas within the constituency.

Hon Dr Adu-Poku Christian has been renominated as the District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo through the Minister for Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon Dan Botwe on Sunday to proceed his good works for the people and the District.
The Award winning Dce therefore used the opportunity and expressed his greatest heartfelt and appreciation to His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the confidence he has reposed in him to serve as his Chief Representative in the District the second time.
He also said to forever be thankful to the Member of Parliarment, Hon Williams Owuraku Aidoo, Constituency Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah and the entire Constituency Executives and party folks for their tremendous support of his renomination.
Hon Adu-Poku Christian disclosed to ensure that the victory will bring unity to the District and the Npp to break the “8”.
He noted that, together with the Constituency Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the MP and deputy minister for Energy, Owuraku Aidoo who form the Trinity in the Constituency will ensure fast development, adding that by 2024 the rest of the roads construction which has been the major challenge will all be completed and receive facelift.
Therefore, Hon APC called on and reach out to everyone to bury differences, come together so as to bring development to the people and glory to the party.
