Government is still absorbing Private Health Graduates to Public Facilities and will never be Discriminatory in Employment Opportunities- Afigya Kwabre South DCE.

The District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon Adu-Poku Christian has assured Private Health Colleges in the Country that the President’s vision to build 111 Hospitals which the District is part of it will need Professionals whether from Public or Private Health College therefore plead with the applicants who have been enrolled into Private Nursing Training to take their studies seriously in other to benefit from the agenda 111 program.

He explained that President Nana Akuffo Addo government has the Ghanaian youth at heart and that has influence the initiative of the Agenda 111 to enable create job opportunities for young men and women who will graduate from any accredited health institution.

Hon Adu-Poku Christian said this when He was speaking at an inaugural ceremony of Miezah College of Health at Apagya near Kodie in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region.

He cautioned the gathering on the prevalent of Covid-19 and HIV/AIDS in the District which is highly among the youth.

The Registrar for Allied Health Profession Council under the Ministry of Health, Dr. Samuel Yaw Opoku has said that the current government is not biased when comes in employment as compared to previous government in some years back.

According to him, President Akuffo Addo government since 2017 has provided equal opportunity of jobs to Health Graduates irrespective of being completed from Public or Private Health College.

He therefore assured Students in the Private College of Health particularly those in the field of Allied Health Profession study to never be discouraged since the Government and the Health Ministry have good plans to absorb them into Public health facilities after successfully completed their studies.

Meanwhile the Executive Director of Miezah College of Health, Dr Alexander Kofi Egote in a welcome address said the initiative was part of his talent and effort given by God to support the Government vision to improve Socio-economic development in Ghana, since government alone can not provide enough Health Educational College.

He added the step was to ensure that Students with low pass D7, E8 get access to Tertiary Health Education to materialize their dreams.

In attendance were the chief of Apagya, Nana Owusu Peprah and Elders of Apagya Traditional area.
