The Chief Executive Officer of Pitchan GH. LTD, Mr Patrick Nii Nortei has singlehandedly constructed and handed over an ultra modern school block edifice to Prabon a community based close to Sewuah in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti region. The billions worth cedis project which is made up of 3 unit classroom, Headmistress office, teachers common room and store is fully furnished with marker board, ceiling fan and furniture and other ancillary was completed within 5 months.
Mr. Patrick Nii Nortei an indigen of Prabon community speaking at the official commissioning of the beautiful edifice disclosed what ignited him towards constructing the school block. He said that one day upon visiting the school, he realized that the students were overcrowded in a class due to inadequate classroom facilities.
He acknowledged the imperative of education and pledged to provide ICT Lab with computers to improve ICT education in the school and also assured the people that he is committed to supporting the community by sponsoring 10 each of male and female brilliant students to further their education in every academic year.
Mr Patrick Nii Nortei charged other stakeholders to emulate as there are still challenges bedeviling the school.
Receiving a citation from Nana Akwaboah Hweamoh II, the CEO urged the people of Prabon and the general public to eschew over dependence on government’s support however, they should according to him contribute their quota to the development of their communities they were born, bred and nurtured.
The Chief and the People of the Prabon community were extremely excited and were grateful to the donor for his swift intervention. According to them the gesture has been unprecedented in the community.
Nana Akwaboa Hweamoh II, the Chief of the traditional area said that from his predecessors to his reign no political government has ever constructed a school block at Prabon. All the classroom blocks according to him were built by himself.
“No government has ever built a school block not even a single classroom for Prabon community, All the existing classroom blocks were erected by myself until my son Nii intervened” the Prabon ruler lamented.
He therefore pleaded the school authorities to handle the edifice with proper care to serve long lifespan for the next generation.
Meanwhile, the Headmistress, Florence Tiah was much grateful to the donor. She highlighted other challenges in which the school is facing.
