Police on manhunt for four robbers

The Tarkwa Nsueam Police Command is on a manhunt for four out of six persons suspected to be part of a robbery incident that led to the death of a security officer.

The robbery incident took place at the Unicom fuel station at Wassa Agona in the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipality.

Confirming the incident to Citi News, the Tarkwa Nsueam Divisional Commander, Chief Supt. George Andrew Kumah stated that six people were the perpetrators of the crime buy they have been able to arrest two persons who are assisting them with the investigations.

“So far we have arrested two of the six people who were involved in the robbery and at the moment, we are chasing the remaining four. The two we arrested confessed to the crime, and they are helping in our investigations and to be able to apprehend the remaining four.”

He also added that the security man at the filling station lost his life during the robbery while explaining how the incident occurred.

“The incident happened at night at a newly opened filling station. They tied up the aged watchman, broke into the filling station, and took away a sum of GHS5,000, and unfortunately because of the time and way the watchman was tied, he got strangulated and died. So investigations are still ongoing and we will find the people to face their crimes in court,” he stated.
