The Minister of Health Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu has stated categorically that government has never squandered covid-19 funds as perceived by some people.
He said though, covid-19 came with its own burden, but government have utilized it’s allocated funds in the interest of all Ghanaians.
According to him, before the strike of covid-19, Ghana had few Intensive Care Unit (ICU) (46) but the country can recently boost of enough as well as Ventilators and Isolation centres are concerned due to the judicious use of the funds.
It could be recognized that section of Ghanaians including minority members of Parliament are jabbing the Minister of Health for mismanaging Ghana’s covid-19 funds which was recently published by the Auditor General.
Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu said this after he handed Clinic Equipments to the University of Energy and Natural Resources in the Bono Region.
He said, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the health ministry have instituted measures to ensure provision of good health care for all schools in Ghana.
This measures was to ensure that students stays on campus to attain good health.
Dr. Solomon Fofie, Director, University Health Services at University of Energy and Natural Resources commended the Vice Chancellor of the University for prioritizing health of students.
He said items such as monitors, oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders and Chairs handed over to the university by the health Minister would support emergency health delivery system.
