Govt Is Prepared To Take Steps To Reclaim All University Encroached lands ~ Prez Akufo Addo

President Nana Akufo Addo has hinted that his government is prepared to reclaim University lands that have been encroached.

He was worried that lands belonging to the University of Cape Coast have seriously been encroached and stated that it was unfortunate and unacceptable.

He sounded a note of caution to the encroachers, that the government is now prepared to take the necessary steps to reclaim such land soon across the country.

Prez Akufo Addo made the remarks at the university of cape coast 60 yrs anniversary in cape coast.

He took the opportunity to commissioning some new infrastructure projects in the university.

Speaking at the grand durbar, he called on Nananom and all stakeholders to ensure the complete seization of these encroachment activities, saying “We need to see the university not only as a national asset and asset for the central region, but most importantly also as an asset to the people of cape coast.

Prez Akufo Addo revealed that regardless of the difficulties currently confronting the education sector in the country, government will continue to intervene and remain responsible for the provision of free quality basic and secondary education for every child to attend school. “Not just only learning books but for the life experiences they may gain”.

“I want each child to look into the mirror every morning and know that they can achieve anything they dream of, when they complete their studies. I want them to be confident, that what they’ve studied is relevant to the demands of today, and of tomorrow. I want every child to be comfortable in their knowledge that when they work hard, they will be as capable as anyone else in the world. And I want parents to look upon their children with pride as they also mature into self- confident adults”, he stated.
