Two in custody, others on the run over cocoa beans smuggle

The Volta Regional Police Command is holding two persons for attempting to smuggle cocoa beans into neighboring Togo despite government stern warning to deal with persons with such criminal minds.

Suspects Isaac Mensah, 29 Somevi William 30 at Wli near Aflo border were said to have been arrested after their movement became suspicious to bodyguards on duty at the Aflo border.

According to information, suspects sensing danger in the process of their unscrupulous business took to their heels but special team comprising the Police, Immigration, and Military led to the arrest of the two suspects while others escaped.

Officials are still after those at large as two arrested will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.
