Fatal Accident Claim 12 Lives
A fatal accident involving long DAF vehicle with registration number GM 2670-12 belonging to Mississippi Transport loaded with cements traveling from Takoradi to Kumasi collided with Toyota Haice with registration number WR 1347-17 with thirteen passengers on board traveling from Kumasi to Takoradi leading to death of twelve passengers 7 male and 5 female on the spot.
According to the police there was bush burning by the roadside leading to thick smoke impairing vision leading to most vehicles stopping.
The DAF driver failed to stop but rather decided to drive past other vehicles by going into the other lane which resulted in a collusion.
Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem(Keea) municipal police commander chief Supt. Abraham Bansah said the DAF driver is on the ran.
The bodies have been sent to the cape coast teaching hospital mortuary.
