Residents cry over poor sanitation hampering good health

Residents of Wenchi in the Bono Region cries as they are exposed to many health dangers due to poor sanitation in the area.

The current sanitation situation in Wenchi is worrying situation which needs urgent attention from the government.

In regards to this, y in an interview with Honorable Kassim Mohammed the Assembly Member for the Ahenfie and the Unit Committee Chairman for the Kokroko electoral area blamed leading waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited in charge of the for their inability to meet their obligation.

Assembly Member for the Ahenfie and the Unit Committee Chairman for the Kokroko electoral areas in an interview with Addai Mununkum our correspondent said zoomlion Ghana Limited, leading waste management company in charge of the sanitation has failed to manage the situation.

The stench emanating from the sanitation sites is unbearable they added.

Meanwhile the public relations officer for leading waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited in the Bono Region, George Manu blamed government for their inability to pay.

He said government owes them for about 6 months.

Mr George Manu said despite the company in its agreement with the government to pay them every quarter (3 months) government is owing them about 6 months of arrears which is far above the contract agreement .

He therefore called on the government to release funds owed the company in other that they can meet their obligation to the citizenry.

He finally encouraged Ghanaians to purchase households waste bins to help curb the menace to ensure clean environment.
