World attention is being focused on progress made to combat HIV AIDS pandemic under the global theme “increasing impact through Transparency, Accountability and Partnership”
FIDA-GH as part of their corporate social responsibilities and agenda to focus on the provision of integrated service for HIV free on the next generation of women who are now at the adolescent age organized a poetry compétition among some selected schools in the Asokwa sub metro in the Ashanti Region on Friday world Aids Day.
The Ashanti Regional Director, Helena Opoku Agyemang said according to UN Aids report in 2013, 16 million women aged 15 years ( adolescent girls ) are living with HIV of 80% live in sub-Saharan Africa.
FIDA-GH is and internationally federation of women Lawyers which provide légal assistant to the less privileged women& children at the same time teach them to know the basic principles of law.
Speaking on their theme “My Body My Wealth” at their office at Kyerepatre Estate in Kumasi, Madam Helena Opoku Agyemang admonished that HIV AIDS is real and therefore adolescent girls must preserve and make wise decisions that will protect their bodily right and also to direct their peers to comprehend that Education, good health and economic assets are a personnification of Wealth.
