Fast and pray against E-levy ~ Kwabena Mintah Akandoh
Member of parliament for Juaboso, Honourable Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has recommended Ghanaians to fast and pray against the passing of the E-levy bill.
The legislator made this call when he commissioned a CHPS compound at New Somanya, a community in the Juaboso constituency of the Western North Region.
The MP in an interview with the media asked Ghanaians not to allow the Akufo-Addo administration to further worsen their plight with the introduction of the E-Levy.
Honourable Akandoh, in a rather unreserved manner, was forthright, and told the gathering to “pray…in fact, some should even fast that the majority caucus in parliament do not have full complement of their numbers in the house to pass the E-levy bill into law, because it’s cutthroat and would woefully plunge the Ghanaian into further financial and economic misery”
According to the MP, the minority in parliament have kicked against a contentious E-Levy bill, which the government says will in no small way help solve the myriad of problems currently facing the country and is bent on having it passed.
He reiterated that, the majority in parliament have had to grapple with the absence of members of parliament to give them their needed strength.
