Speaking to Jesse Amankwah UTV news reporter, the Akyem Oda Area Manager of the Timber Industry Development Division, Kwadwo Opoku Adomako pointed out that, the people took advantage of the Christmas break, thinking that, they could operate their illegal activities freely but with the vigilance of their men, they have been able to handle the miscreants.
He added that, whether there is holiday or not, they are wide awake in ensuring that, the proper things are done in the timber Industry.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Martha Kwayie advised the public to desist from illegal logging and follow the lawful procedures to have engagement with the forestry commission rather than going through the back doors to operate in the timber industry, else if caught engaging in illegalities, they will be dealt with accordingly.
