Bring your alternatives for opposing e-levy – Mr. Dongi to NDC.
The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications Director for Banda constituency, Mr. Dongi Gabriel, is chasing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their alternatives to the opposing of the controversial Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy).
Parliament on last Tuesday, 29th March, 2022 approved and passed the E-levy bill.
In reaction, the minority in dissatisfaction has sue government to supreme court over the passage of the E-levy bill.
In view of this, Mr. Dongi who is the communications director of the NPP in Banda says the minority should come up with their alternatives if they want it removed and not just be opposing it just because they are in opposition.
“The NDC must tell us what their alternative is for Ghana on this electronic levy issue. Since this initiative was announced in parliament during the 2022 budget reading, the NDC has always been opposing it but has never stated any alternative to the government over it”, he cried out.
According to the communications director, the ruling government remains sensitive to the needs of Ghanaians and the capacity of Ghanaians to take charge of their own future.
He said it is the view of the NPP that the 2022 budget will bring the needed development to the country hence the E-levy must be supported and hold the government accountable to usage of the levy.
“The NPP will continue to offer well policies for the good people of Ghana which will generate the much-needed jobs and developmental projects.
Again if it is not empty noises and propaganda sprees from the NDC, then it could be a deliberate misrepresentation or cooked facts just to mislead the public without considering the consequences”, he stated.
He concluded that the E-levy is the panacea to raise funds internally for the country’s development and become independent of IMF.
