Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon Vincent Ekow Assafuah has provided 80 hairdryers and 80 sewing machines and its peripherals to the needy in the constituency.
The donation which is under MASLOC fund, each of the electoral area in the Constituency received 14 of the machines at Tapass on Monday.
Addressing the gathering Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah said the donation was part of his efforts to empower as well as to form a startup package to some women in the constituency.
“I am of the firm belief that when our women financially empowered, households will equally be financially empowered. Therefore, it is imperative that sometimes an affirmative action is adopted to assist our women out of the poverty threshold” He explained.
According to the former Public Relation Officer at the Ministry of Education, it is of His resolutions after assuming the office of the Member of Parliament for the constituency to ensure that the issue of unemployment, especially among women, is dealt with to the best of his knowledge and efficiency.
The Old Tafo Legislator used the period to express his gratitude to the Constituents for the massive endorsement and confidence they gave and imposed on him during the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
