“Sanitation In The Country Must Not Be The Work Of Gov’t But We Citizens” ~ Ghanaians Told.

Speaking on behalf of Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church Ghana during the opening ceremony of a new church building at Akyem Anyinase in the Akyemansa district of Eastern region, the West Akyem Presbytery chairperson; Rev. Raymond Baah Abekah has emphasized that sanitation must not be the work of central government but citizens.

He explained that the waste pollution in our environment are caused by the people and not the central government, hence if the citizens are willing to put a stop to unnecessary pollution of waste and will rather ensure a clean environment, the government wouldn’t waste money and resources on waste management which could have been channeled to other areas for nation development.

He has therefore tasked Ghanaian citizens especially Christians and Muslims to practice what they preach or hear from their holy books (Bible and Quran) which says “cleanliness is next to godliness” so as to make the country clean and not intend to blame the government.

Madam Dorah Nketiah, a blind old woman who has single handedly built an ultramodern church for Akyem Anyinase Presby church in the Akyemansa district (Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency) speaking to Peace FM revealed what motivated her to do it and encourage people who are worthy to help others in their smaller communities.
