National Road Safety Sensitizes Road Users About Fire Extinguisher, Advanced Warning Triangle, Wearing Seat Belts And Overloading At Western North
The National Road Safety (NRS) branch in the Western North Region, has sensitize road users especially, communcial drivers, passengers and commuters plying the various routes in Sefwi Bekwai, Wiawso, Bibiani, Enchi, Agona, Agyakaa Manso in the Western and Western North.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Kontor Boateng Lord fm, the Western North Assistant Planning Manager of National Road Safety, Mr. Oheneba Kwame Achiampong expressed that their operations and sensitization together with the Ghana police service is to educate drivers, passengers and commuters to wear seat belts, and acquire advanced triangle, fire extinguishers about its usage whenever there’s an incident of fire outbreak in line of their service duty and how to use the fire extinguisher to prevent and also to enforce the law binding road safety.
He added that, throughout their operations and sensitization, 16 commercial drivers driving without advanced triangle and fire extinguishers were asked to buy from town and the recalcitrants who refused were handed to the police.
Some of the drivers, passengers who had the opportunity to benefit from the sensitization and operation shared their views about the usage of the advanced triangle and fire extinguishers in their day to day activities in case of fire or mishaps.
