NEVER HIDE YOUR DISABLED CHILDREN- SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICER TO PARENTS
The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Social Welfare Officer, Mr.Godfred Baah has urged parents not to hide their disabled children and also stop calling their disable children bad names, knowing that such names have negative impact on their lives.
Mr. Baah entreated parents to motivate their disable children and get closer to them and feel proud for having them in their (parents) lives.
He pleaded with the parents who are not allowing their disable children to have access to Education, to put a stop to such act.
In an interview with Nattybongo,Mr.Godfred Baah again stated that, some of the disable people are artisans, so Ghanaians should not left them out when selecting artisans for job opportunities.
According to him, inclusion of both able and disable people in their workplaces will help the disable people to be aware that they are also capable of doing something profitable in contributing to the nation’s GDP.
He made this comment in an interview with Nattybongo, when the Ghana federation of persons living with disability Sefwi wiawso branch were electing their new president.
The newly elected president for the Ghana federation of persons living with disability branch of Sefwi wiawso municipal, Mr Isaac Nkuah who is a blind man expressed his displeasure of how some people maltreat people living with disability.
He stated that, the people living with disability can also do better work, even better than people who are not living with any disability.
