“We will work in line with the constitution of our institution” ~ PIAC

We will work in line with the constitution of our institution ~ Dr. Emmanuel Yamoah Tenkorang.

As it is expected of every institution to account and explain things into details to its members, the need for Public Interest and Accountability Committee to explain things to the people of the Western north about how the money generated from the oil and gas is used for.

Dr Emmanuel Yamoah Tenkorang, board member of Public Interest and Accountability Committee stated that, though, they have done what they are supposed to as speculated by their constitution but still they still need to improve upon the working rate.

He added that, there is no interference in their work but most at times you will see some people interfering into their responsibilities but when you ask them bring their ideas, they will not bring it.

In an interview with NattyBongo of liberty fm, Dr. Emmanuel Yamoah Tenkorang said, he was very satisfied about the kind of questions the people asked them.

He added that, the kind of questions the people asked shows that the people are very much concern about how the revenue generated from the oil is used for.

He furthered that, PIAC can work effectively if money and other logistics are made available for them to go to all the 16 regions to explain details to the people so the need for them to be supported.

He made this comment when the PIAC board members meet Stakeholders, civil servants and Nananom at western North region.

Nana Elluo Payin, the Kyidomhene of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council double as chief of Sefwi Nsuosua graced the occasion said all people present at the occasion were overwhelmed about how the generated revenue of our oil is used for.

He also added that, it is the happiest moment for the people of western north to know that even the structure of the regional coordinating council was also funded by the oil and gas revenue 52% of it’s cost and other developmental projects.

Nana also pleaded with the government to put the other sectors such, timbers, gold, bauxite and others to make accountability of the work just as PIAC is doing.
