Family of Sir John commissions one of his left behind projects as the former turns 70, Queen mother still reminds gov’t about their deplorable road.
The Queen mother of Sakora Wonoo traditional area in the Kwabre East municipality of the Ashanti region, Nana Ama Nyarko Abronoma has voiced to reminding the government led by president Akufo-Addo to revisit their promises made to people of Sakora Wonoo and the Kwabre East municipality during the painful demise of Sir John to fix the deplorable nature of their roads.
Nana Ama Nyarko Abronoma was speaking at a durbar to commission a fully mechanized borehole water facility project initiated by the late Lawyer Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John and also marked the deceased’s 70th birthday if he had been still alive, at Sakora Wonoo on Tuesday.
She appealed to the government to remember its former forestry commission CEO, the former general secretary of the Npp and complete his left behind hospital, road and bridge construction projects.
The Queen mother also donation cartons of assorted drinks to support the celebration.
Hon. Lawyer Owusu Afriyie is dead but still alive by his virtues and legacies. He would have turned 70 if he was only alive. As part of the birthday celebration, the family visited the tomb and ushered prayers for the living and the dead.
A soccer competition among schools at Sakora Wonoo and football clubs at Ahodwo and Wonoo were organized and sets of educational kits were as well donated to the school children by the departed family.
Mr Michael Owusu, the Successor and Nephew to the late Sir John speaking with heroesghnews portal explained the purpose of celebrating the 70th birthday of the Esquire if he had been still alive.
According to him the family is poised to protecting the legacies of their Uncle especially in his areas of education and health.
He mentioned that, the family has opened Sir John foundation which will cover education and health to help support needy but brilliant students and also equip and improve the health of the people.
Meanwhile, the elder daughter of Sir John, Miss Akosua Owusu Afriyie spoke with Rexkin and thanked Ghanaians, the president and his vice for their support to the family ever since their father departed.
She spoke on behalf of herself and her siblings and requested the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his able officials to provide facelift on Sakora Wonoo stretch and also accomplish the hospital which her father initiated to honor the deceased.
