Asuom: Palm Oil Producers Call For Gov’t Support

WOMEN PALM OIL PRODUCERS AT ASUOM CALL FOR GOV’T SUPPORT

The local palm oil women producers at Akyem Asuom in the Kwaebibirem municipality of Eastern region have called on government support to enable them produce the oil in larger qualities to boost Ghana’s economy.

They lamented that the stressful condition they go through before the final stage of production of palm oil is very terrible which isn’t good for their health condition and that of their little babies they carry at their back.

The women revealed that the heat condition from the fire and sun that they stay in during the production of palm oil is very unbearable therefore they will plead with government to assist them with equipments such as tents to provide shade and simple modern machines that can make it easy and comfortable for their work.

They further added that the price buyers give them after passing through stressful means in producing the palm oil is nothing to write home about hence they are appealing to government to come to their rescue since they have no job option.

The women revealed this to Peace FM reporter Kwabena Ofori when the president of Artisanal Palm oil Millers And Outgrowers Association, Ghana; Mr. Paul Amaning who is also contesting for Eastern regional NPP chairmanship visited them as part of his birthday celebration activities.

The Eastern regional NPP chairman hopeful and double as president of Artisanal Palm oil Millers And Outgrowers Association, Ghana; Mr. Paul Amaning assured the women that plans have been put in place and would soon be implemented by Nana Addo’s government hence they should exercise little patience because the NPP government cares for them.
