Take Hepatitis B serious as it is equally dangerous as HIV/AIDS, COVID 19 government told as world Hepatitis Day observed. …… find contact number

Safe Your Liver Foundation has joined the world to mark world Hepatitis Day Celebration, Charged Gov’t to treat Hepatitis B equally dangerous as HIV/AIDS and Covid infections.

Hepatitis is the inflammation of the Liver and it is claiming many Lives silently according World Health Organization, WHO. Liver advocate Rev. Fred Kankam-Boadu has said.

Creating awareness of the adverse implications of Hepatitis “B” to the general Public on World Hepatitis Day, the Regional Manager for Northern Ghana sector who doubles as Programs Director for Save Your Liver Foundation in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Rev Fred Kankam Boadu disclosed that according to recent research by WHO, over 350 million people are living with the disease, every 30 seconds one person die as a result of hepatitis B Worldwide.

He charged the government of Ghana to demonstrate equal concern/action towards Hepatitis B just as given to HIV/AIDS, Malaria/TB and Covid 19 pandemic etc..

He spoke with Rexkin Ohene Boateng in an interview on Wednesday to mark World Hepatitis Day Celebration.

The theme of this year’s World Hepatitis Day was dubbed “HEP CAN’T WAIT”.

Meanwhile Rev. Fred Kankam Boadu further hinted that Hepatitis “B” does not show early symptoms as compared to Covid 19, Tuberculosis, HIV and others, hence the need for the general public to get screened to know their status so as to find treatment and also adopt preventive measure in order to avoid the disease.

He stated that Safe Your Liver Foundation has opened free Hepatitis screening and possible remedies at Lord Care center, Kumasi Roman Hill near Addai Cutlass, therefore entreating everyone to embrace and use the opportunity to get tested.

Safe Your Liver Foundation and World Hepatitis Alliance have initiated a program dubbed “eliminating hepatitis by 2030” which they are through several platforms creating awareness in order to achieve the target.
