A new farming technology, called Agri-IOT has been launched at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) Tarkwa to make farming easy for farmers.
As part of measures to make farming easily for farmers and make it attractive to the general public must especially the youth, The Office of Research, Innovation and Consultancy/Department of Computer Science and Engineering of University of Mines and Technology, Umat Tarkwa has launched a project dubbed “Agri -IOT Project which will help farmers to monitor their farm on their phones.
According to a lecturer, at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. Emmanuel Effah who lead the team on the project explained that their aim is to make farming attractive to the youth with technology in order for the youth to rush for farming and make them rich.
In an interview with peace FM reporter nana Poku of Dynamite FM Tarkwa, Dr. Emmanuel Effah added that with this technology, a farmer can be at home and at the same time water his or her farm products.
