Support Judicial Service To making Alternative Dispute Resolution a Major Component Of Justice Delivery ~ CJ Charges Chiefs.
The Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Akwasi Anning Yeboah as part of his tour to commission Court Complex across the country has called on traditional authorities and stakeholders to support the judicial services to making alternative dispute resolution a major component of justice delivery in Ghana which according to him could reduce over burden of cases among Judges and Magistrates.
At a durbar to commission an ultra modern court complex and bangalows for Judges and Magistrates at Kodie in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti region on Friday, Justice Akwasi Anning Yeboah appealed to Nananom to use their offices to get rid of cases that ought to have been tracked.
He commended the Chiefs and the District Assemblies for releasing land and the Administrator of the district assemblies common fund for ensuring regular funding support for the many court houses projects.
The Chief Exeutive for the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly, Hon. Dr. Adu-Poku Christian popularly known as APC said, the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is very committed to improving law and justice in Ghana by so through the Chief Justice has given them a court complex.
He said, the hard work and dedication that have gone into that edifice to making the dream of fair trial, justice and rule of law a reality appreciate why government must borrow to solve tommorow’s problem today.
The Chief Exeutive assured the gatherings that, the newly commissioned court house will hold those who have gone contrary to the law, accountable to their actions and hope people entrusted with power and influenced in the society will not or duly intervene in the court justice.
The legitimacy of that district law court according to him will lie in it’s ability to serve justice for all, where the guilty will be punished and the innocent will be protected by law systems.
