Tension Begins To Mount At Adoagyiri Over Alleged Installation Of Rival Chief.

Tensions has started mounting at the Adoagyiri traditional area in the Eastern region over the alleged plans to install a rival Chief by the Akyem Abuakwa traditional authorities, the move which the Adoagyiri Chiefs has vowed to resist vehemently with all their arsenals available to them.

According to the Chiefs of Adoagyiri traditional area in a press conference, they are not under the traditional jurisdiction of Akyem Abuakwa traditional area but rather part of Akyem Kotoku traditional area from time immemorial till date.

The Adoagyirihene who doubles as the Kotoku Ankobeahene, Okoanadwo Afutu Dompreh II described the move as unlawful and recipe for chaos since they will not tolerate any rival Chief in the area.

He stated that, he is the sole legitimate Chief in Adoagyiri duly recognized by the state and together with the people will do anything possible within their capacity to resist any attempt to impose on them any Chief.

Some of the Divisional Chiefs also expressed about how the move could trigger violence and affect the peace and the stability of the area, pointing out that, they will not allow such thing to happen.
