Dr Ben Asante Is Unrepentant Nationalist ~ Youth For Ghana Touts.

A public interest advocacy group by name, Youth For Ghana based in Kumasi has described as frivolous the allegations that Dr Ben Asante, Ghana Gas CEO was sabotaging efforts to get indigenes or natives employed at the company.

The group, in a statement, wondered why some persons calling themselves as NPP members would try to work to bring a good person in the shape of Dr Asante down.

It said the allegations in some online publications that the respected CEO had not given job opportunities to persons who are residents or natives of the Atuabo town were false.

The group also noted that claims that some persons who wanted to have attachment at Ghana Gas had been denied the opportunity contrary to what the CEO had made them to believe was a blatant lie.

DETAILS:

The group noted that Dr Ben K.D Asante is a trained professional and an unrepentant nationalist who wants the best for Ghana and nothing else.

This is amply demonstrated, the statement said, in the fact that despite numerous job opportunities elsewhere across the world he decided to respond to the call of the President and took the appointment on the 30th January, 2017.

Dr Ben Asante, the group mentioned, saw his appointment as an opportunity to empower the people of Ghana particularly residents at Atuabo in the Ellembelle constituency.

They noted that Dr Asante would be the last to do anything to deny natives or Ghanaians the right to get opportunities to work and to upgrade themselves as students who needed attachment placements.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The group said it was on record that on 16th September, 2019, just about two years in the job as CEO of Ghana Gas Company, Dr Ben Asante had created openings for persons to be employed and from 150 persons in 2017 as workers the numbers had increased to 650.

Remarkably, the statement noted that Dr Ben Asante from the day he was appointed got to meet with staff and management and upon serious consultations with the board he got approval for salary increment for all staff of the company and each had 85% increment on the same every month.

In 2019, Ghana Gas under Dr Ben KD Asante paid a whopping 20million cedis as dividend to the Ghanaian government, the group stated.

Dr Ben Asante, in 2019 was touted as the most meticulous CEO by head of Corporate Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah in a famous publication on Modernghana online site.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Mentioning some of the achievements, the group said that the CEO had motivated the company’s staff in the area of salary increment as well as good working conditions.

In September 2018, interestingly, Dr Ben Asante was named as the prestigious CEO of the year at the Energy Awards 2018, the group stated.

Dr Asante was recently elected as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Hockey Association, an accolade he has held sway over two terms including many other awards he has to his name.

“We therefore find it extremely disingenuous on the part of any Ghanaian who would want to paint the CEO as a person who discourages effort or who will do anything to deprive his fellow Ghanaian a place to work whether permanently or on attachment’’, the statement said.

The group, however said just as his upbringing and social attributes are they know Dr Asante would want to have time with the Ellembelle NPP polling station organizers who may have been fed with wrong information so they can discuss the matters they have raised and resolve something that should be easy to do since the NPP party gave the CEO opportunity to serve in government.
