1982 Year Group of KUMACA Marks 40yrs Anniversary after Leaving: Honors Alma Mater, Commissions Projects

Old Students Association of 1982 year group of Kumasi Academy KUMACA, in the Ashanti region has observed its 40 years anniversary after completing from the school.

The Ruby jubilee anniversary which also seeks to reunion the Alumini after long years of separation was not only to reminisce memories from their school days but to also reinforce their common bonds, regenerate their friendships, and reinvigorate their spirits in appreciation of life’s difference.

They commissioned a befitting garage for their alma mater and mechanized borehole water facility for Nkwantakese community to honor their classmate, Nana Boakye Yam Ababio who is the chief of Nkwantakese traditional area for his enormous contribution to their Association on Sunday and Friday respectively.

The President of the Association, Paul Owusu Agyemang reiterated that their actions reflect strong response to governments’ clarion call to assist schools as it cannot tackle all the challenges alone due essentially to inadequate resources.

He observed that, it is imperative for the old boys and girls to embark on assistance schemes as strategies to give back to society and community that have nurtured, blessed them and layed down their foundation of successes.

Urging other Alumini to also endeavour to support their Alma maters to facilitate academic work, the London based Ghanaian Akunini Old boy said it was necessary for people to give back to schools and communities which mentored them to become what they were today.

Receiving the honor at the ribbon cutting to officially commission of the ultra modern mechanized borehole pipe, Nkwantakese Chief, Nana Boakye Yam Ababio (Okunini) admonished the general public particularly the young people to exhibit a sense of good conduct in every sphere to bestow honor and dignity for themselves and society.

The traditional Ruler stated that, Nkwantakese community is fast developing thereby the water project has come at the rightful time and it will go a long way to support the people.

He assured the donors to cultivate a culture of maintenance to enhance longevity.

Meanwhile the Headmaster of Kumasi Academy Senior High School, Mr. Gato Samuel was much impressed for the gesture by the 82 year group.

He acknowledged the immense contribution of past students of the school towards academics, siting the ultra modern science laboratory, water and sanitation facilities and provision of books have encouraged them.

Mr. Ghato Samuel used the occasion to call on individual past students who have not join the trail to emulate.

Before they took excursion to the school campus, led by the President Paul Owusu Agyemang the group had a counseling and guidance service with the students, they interacted where the students also assured their seniors to follow their steps and become whom they are today.

The Akunini therefore had dinner party at the X-5 conference hall at Krofrom in Kumasi on Sunday. Having fine time among each other, they took a minute silence, prayed and honored their departed mates.
