Minority MPs say GOLDBOD boss must be held responsible for violating Forex and Currency regulations

The Minority in Parliament is calling for the immediate suspension of Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting CEO of Ghana GOLDBOD, after a viral video emerged showing him handing an undisclosed sum of US dollars to controversial evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, also known as Nana Agradaa.
Despite issuing an apology, Gyamfi is facing severe backlash, leading to his summons by the Chief of Staff.
The Minority, led by Dr. Kabiru Tia Mahama, MP for Walewale, has insisted that the President take swift action, emphasizing that Gyamfi’s actions violate the Code of Conduct, the Forex Exchange Act, and the Currency Act.
Dr. Mahama, a member of the Finance Committee, pointed out that Gyamfi, a respected lawyer, should have been well aware of the legal implications of his actions.
He further called for a comprehensive investigation into the source of the dollars involved.
As the public outcry grows, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has also summoned Gyamfi to explain his conduct, setting the stage for further developments in the investigation.
