Sefwi Kojina, Subri Nkwanta: GNPC Cuts Sod For The Construction Of An E-Learning Facility

A team from Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Ltd GNPC, headed by Mr. Kwesi Kyei has cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modern E-learning facility on Thursday, 23rd February 2023 at Sefwi Kojina/Subiri Nkwanta in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

Speaking in an interview with Peace News, Mr. Kyei hinted that the Member of Parliament, Hon. Alfred Obeng-Boateng delivered a proposal to the organization for assistance to put up the facility.

After the receipt of the proposal, a needs assessment was made with the stakeholders of the community and it came to light that the community was in dire need of the facility hence, the decision to establish the edifice.

He continued that GNPC used to sponsor black stars but the old order changed and paved the way to the new order where the Corporation undertakes equally important projects like scholarships, educational infrastructure, places of convenience, mechanized boreholes, and training of artisans.

Again, Mr. Kyei entreated the youth pursuing science courses in tertiary to take advantage of the GNPC Scholarship by applying to the Corporation anytime the portal is opened. He finally assured the gathering that funds are available for the full completion of the project on schedule.

Nana Kofi Affi lll, Chief of Subiri Nkwanta who doubles as Nifahene of Anhwiaso Traditional Area welcomed the team and expressed his joy for the project.

He however requested additional facilities like water, toilets, CHPS Compound, and Teachers’ bungalows.

The chief also cautioned the town folks against pilfering and theft of the building materials.

Mr. Paul Andoh, the Constituency’s first vice chairman who represented the Member of Parliament expressed his enthusiasm for the realization of a dream which was conceived long ago.

He pleaded with the community to offer the needed support and cooperation with the contractor and the workers for the smooth execution of the project.

He prayed the GNPC and other state-owned enterprises help the Member of Parliament construct the remaining two E-learning facilities earmarked for Sefwi Bekwai and Bibiani respectively.

The first Vice Chairman also called on the government to expedite action on the appointment of an MCE for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.
