Head Pastor of the Truth Faith Church International at Kontanase in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti region, Pastor John Owusu Yeboah has called on churches to prioritize the spiritual and physical well-being of the underprivileged in the society.
The man of God made this call when he singlehandedly donated an amount of ghc10,000 equivalent to 100 million old Ghana cedis cash to orphans at Save A Life childrenās home as way to put smiles in the faces of the orphans in this Easter festive season presented on his behalf by his junior sibling at the forecourt of the orphanage at Swedru-Abrankese in the same district.
Pastor John Owusu Yeboah who’s currently residing in Canada speaking on the rationale behind the donation, stated as his duty call to put smiles on the faces of vulnerable children, and it has been his routine annual rituals to support widows and orphans even when he was in Ghana.
āI understand that occasion like this, orphans will need people to come around to also support and encourage them so I do this as an annual event to show love to these children, i started with widows however it came to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic which i switched to orphanage”, the Man of God explained and quoted the scriptures of Hebrews 13:16.
The Canada based Prophet said there was the need for churches to create a congenital environment for such people to feel loved and also support them to live a good and independent life.
“Sofo John” as affectionately called emphasised that prayers and support from churches could give a vibrant hope and opportunities to several disadvantaged children in the society who have been calling on God to help them out of their present state of difficulties.
He therefore called for collaboration of all to come and make a change in the lives of these orphans and vulnerable children.
The Director of the Save A Life Foundation, Mr Michael Morgan expressed his excitement after receiving the donations.
He appealed to other faith-based organisations, NGOs and individuals to emulate the bold gesture of Prophet John and come to their aid and support the orphans in both cash and in kind to keep the facility running.
With greater excitement, some of the orphans speaking with the media ushered blessings for the benevolent Pastor John Owusu Yeboah, they also pleaded for more support from Ghanaians.
