“Eschew Over Dependence On Government” ~ Dr Lawson, Constructs and Hands Over Concret Bridge Project To Obuasikrom

The Chief Executive Officer of Lawson Herbal and Beverages Limited, Dr Lawson Kyei-Manu has advised the general public to eschew the over dependence on government but should adopt how to take responsibilities for themselves.

The CEO made that call as part of his social responsibility, who has single handedly constructed and handed over a concrete bridge project to Obuasikrom a farming community near Bibiani but dwelling in the Atwima Mponua district of the Ashanti region.

The millions of cedis worth concrete bridge was constructed on Bayerebon river to link Bassengele and Obuasikrom, Nkwasiatan, Nyabienye, Okyerekrom and Dodowa communities to the route motorable.

Speaking on behalf of the CEO during the official ribbon cutting ceremony, the Public Relations Officer for the Herbal and Beverages Limited, Mr Emmanuel Boakye Aggrey said that government alone cannot absorb everything, however his gesture embodies the spirit of giving back and showing his commitment to the values and education instilled in him by the community he was birthed and nurtured.

He used the opportunity to call on the general public to do their part towards the nation building.

In a welcome note, the Assembly Member for the Obuasikrom electoral, Hon Yeboah Alexander bemoaned over lack of health facility, unavailable Telecommunication network, lack of classrooms among others were the major challenges having adverse impact on the community with over 2000 populates. He appealed to authorities to come to their aid.

Meanwhile, the community folks expressed their deepest gratitude to Dr Lawson Kyei-Manu for the project and his outstanding generosity.

According to them, since memorial the Bayerebon river was bridged with woods, causing death and injuries to the users, no government has taken a step to construct a concrete bridge on it.
