Atwima Mponua Amaada: Galamsey Pits Claiming Many Lives As Residents Declare War On Mining Company

The residents of Amaadaa a farming community in the Atwima Mponua district of Ashanti Region are peeved and declared War against mining pits which are not reclaim and rather claiming lives.
The residents are demanding an immediate end to the menace that is negatively impacting their livelihoods.

According to the residents, the rates at which the open pits are claiming the lives of people are alarming.
They noted that there has been a decline in their harvest as a result of the destruction of their farmlands.

Residents shared their sad story of how they lost their family members.

Opinion Leader Oteng Mensah said all plans to mining company to cover the sites have proved futile.

Meanwhile, the road leading to the community is in deplorable state as residents agitate.
