Yesterday at the Regional Coordinating Council, I had the honour of swearing in all eight Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) who received confirmation.
In my address, I reminded them that leadership is a call to service, not a position of privilege. I strongly advised them against procrastination and complacency, which are enemies of progress. The people deserve committed, visionary, and action-oriented leaders who will work tirelessly to improve livelihoods and drive development.
I encouraged them to work closely with traditional leaders, Assembly Members, opinion leaders, and all stakeholders. It is only through unity, cooperation, and open dialogue that we can make meaningful impact at the local level.
Above all, I charged them to represent the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, with dignity, discipline, and distinction. Their work reflects the vision and commitment of the government, and as such, they must carry themselves with the utmost sense of responsibility and patriotism.
Ashanti Region continues to rise—and we must all play our part. I congratulate the newly sworn-in MDCEs once again and wish them well in their journey of service.
