A/R, Old Tafo Municipal: President’s Nominee Confirmed, Receives 100% Endorsement

Hon. Abubakar Sadiq, the President’s Nominee as Municipal Chief Executive MCE, for Old Tafo Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region has been overwhelmingly confirmed 100 per cent at the Municipal Assembly conference Hall on Wednesday 14th May, 2025.

All the 24 Assembly members voted YES indicating massive endorsement for the Nominee to accelerate the development and progress of the municipality.

In his acceptance speech after Mr. Abubakar Sadiq was declared as the MCE elect by the Electoral Commission, He thanked God and President John Dramani Mahama for His guidance, mercy and confidence he had in him respectively and promised to put up his best to bring development to the citizenry of Old Tafo Municipality.

“I stand before you today deeply humbled, profoundly grateful, and filled with a renewed sense of duty and purpose. With great humility, I accept the responsibility and honor bestowed upon me as the confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Old Tafo Municipal Assembly,

First and foremost, I give thanks to Almighty Allah for His guidance, mercy, and strength throughout this journey. I am also eternally grateful to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana, for the trust and confidence he has placed in me through this appointment”.

He was committed to upholding the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, accountability, and development-centered leadership. Together, they will focus on improving infrastructure, promoting quality education and healthcare, empowering their youth.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY HON. ABUBAKAR SADIO AFTER CONFIRMATION AS MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OLD TAFO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY – WEDNESDAY, 14TH MAY 2025

Hon. Presiding Member,

Hon. Assembly Members,

District Coordinating Director and Staff of the Assembly,
Nananom,
The Clergy,
Party Executives,
Distinguished Guests,
Friends from the Media,
Ladies and Gentlemen.

I stand before you today deeply humbled, profoundly grateful, and filled with a renewed sense of duty and purpose. With great humility, I accept the responsibility and honor bestowed upon me as the confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Old Tafo Municipal Assembly.

First and foremost, I give thanks to Almighty Allah for His guidance, mercy, and strength throughout this journey. I am also eternally grateful to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana, for the trust and confidence he has placed in me through this appointment. This nomination is not just a personal milestone, but a reflection of our collective hope for progress, development, and good governance in our beloved municipality.

To the Honorable Assembly Members, I am truly honored by your endorsement through today’s vote. Your confirmation is not just a mandate, it is a covenant of trust. I assure you that I will work hand-in-hand with each and every one of you, regardless of political or ideological differences, to build a municipality that meets the needs of its people and leaves no one behind.

I am committed to upholding the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, accountability, and development-centered leadership. Together, we will focus on improving infrastructure, promoting quality education and healthcare, empowering our youth, enhancing sanitation and environmental sustainability, and creating an enabling environment for economic growth and job creation.

To the Chiefs and Traditional Authorities, I extend my warmest respect and pledge to engage with you regularly and respectfully as partners in development. To our development partners, civil society, religious leaders, and the entire community, I call on you to join hands with me. The task ahead is enormous, but I believe with unity of purpose, there is nothing we cannot achieve.

Let me conclude by saying that this is not a time for celebration alone, it is a time for hard work, collaboration, and vision. Let us rise to the occasion and build an Old Tafo that is progressive, inclusive, and prosperous.
