On April 21, 2025, I had the honor of joining the chiefs and people of Kenyasi, Kasaam, Asonomaso, and Sakora Wonoo for their homecoming celebrations. The events, hosted by Nana Kenyasi Hene, Nana Kasaam Hene, Nana Asonomaso Hene, and Nana Sakora Wonoo Hene showscased a beautiful display of our rich culture and unity.
I used the opportunity to address the growing issue of opioid abuse, especially the dangerous drug known as āwonim redā, and urged our chiefs, parents, and community members to help protect our youth.
I also shared updates on my new roles in Parliament, where I now serve on the Budget Committee, the Committee on Independent Constitutional Bodies, and as a Friend of the Human Rights Committee.
I acknowledged delays in key projects like the Mamponteng market and the astro turfs in Ahwiaa and Aboaso, and assured everyone of my commitment to pushing for their completion. I also listened to concerns about roads, teacher accommodation, and the need for a CHPS compound, and promised to follow up through the appropriate channels.
Iām grateful for the warm welcome and will continue working hard to improve the lives of the people of Kwabre East.
